About Jennie

Jennie is a qualified primary school teacher, and a specialist TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher. She loves her job and also loves learning about new cultures and meeting new people, so teaching English online is her dream come true!

Jennie teaches both children and adults, and loves to include games, puzzles and fun activities to keep the learning exciting.

She loves using high quality lessons to prompt real-life, interesting conversations with adult and young adult students.

In the UK, Jennie is a specialist tutor and has a thorough knowledge of the UK English and phonics curriculums. She uses this to help her in her lesson planning and teaching. Jennie is a member of the prestigious UK Tutors’ Association.

Passionate about empowering all students to reach their potential and excel in today’s global communities and job markets, Jennie focuses on building each student’s confidence and self-esteem. She is professional, patient, enthusiastic, and quickly develops strong bonds with her students.

As well as her teaching qualifications, she has diplomas in Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Well-being and in Child Psychology. These help her to quickly build excellent rapport with young students. She has a wealth of experience coaching adults and also as an online English teacher to Chinese students.

Jennie lives in the City of Sheffield in the U.K. with her husband, daughter, a crazy rabbit, a crazy hamster and 2 crazy pet rats. She loves to read, meet new friends, travel and spend time with her family. Her favourite colour is purple with blue spots, and her favourite animal is a platypus.

Five interesting facts about Jennie

I have taught English in classrooms in the UK, Ghana and Sri Lanka and online to students around the world.
I have been cage-diving with great white sharks, scuba diving and sky-diving, but I’m too scared to try skiing!
I have walked part of the Great Wall of China.
I can say hello in 10 languages.
I have worked in offices, schools, a zoo, a lion nursery and an elephant orphanage!
